Tired of To-Do Lists? Try The Done List
--
It seems like every article about focus and productivity involves lists of some kind:
- a list of life goals
- a list of daily choices
- a list of your ultimate morning routine
I love lists. I have at least four of them posted next to my computer monitor: my Project List, lists of action steps for My Two Current Projects, and The Done list.
The Done list is my favorite. When I hit a challenging goal or finish a task I had procrastinated on, it goes on The Done list. So on days when I’m unmotivated or low-vibe, I can look at all the achievements I’ve done so far and see how many I can get to by the end of the week/month/year.
Here are a few examples of items that have gone on The Done List:
- Unpublished first KDP book (reworking it).
- Completed a 100 Burpee Session
- Helped a friend into the six-figure club!
- I worked on my passion project every day for 31 Days.
- 25 pounds down!
- Applied to be a fitness model (yes, really)
- Five clients!
If you are looking for some internal motivation, why not give The Done List a try?
The next time you finish something or hit a milestone, write it down; it doesn’t matter if it was a Big Thing or a Small Thing. The only metric of importance is that you felt accomplished and proud after completing it.
I’d love to see what you come up with for your Done List!
